Gene Domagala is a local personality, and, as one of the most knowledgeable individuals on the matter, a Beaches historian.

A tour with Domagala will reveal how the Beaches neighbourhood, with more than a century of history, has evolved while surviving a number of renewals and name changes.  And, in addition, how the Beaches was home to a number of colourful and interesting personalities.

For instance did you know that the first elected mayor of the City of Toronto was Sir Adam Wilson, a Beach resident?  Or that the Ken Williams House commonly known as the “Gardner’s Cottage” was originally brought in by barge from Kingston?  Or that, at the turn of the 20th century, the Beaches included among its attractions The Scarborough Beach Amusement Park complete with a quarter-mile long coaster ride?

These are just few of the insights gleaned from a tour with Domagala, who has written over 300 articles for The Beach Metro News, and will be pleased to share his passion of Beaches history.

To arrange a tour please contact Gene Domagala at 416-691-5229.
