Born in Saginaw Michigan in 1965, raised and influenced by a family of Gospel singers and Blues lovers, Sharrie Williams began singing at the age of 12 with The Greater Williams Temple Church Choir. Sharrie became instantly captivated by powerful vocalists that had a dynamic stage presence – Billie Holiday, Tina Turner, Ruth Brown, Etta James, and Koko Taylor – a fascination that proved to have a lasting effect on the aspiring singer.

Sharrie began to perform frequently throughout the 90's with her band, and by 2001 had firmly established herself overseas. With the release of the CD, Hard Drivin' Woman, (on the German Crosscut Records), and the news of her vibrant stage show, it wasn't long before U.S. promoters started taking notice. To date, Sharrie has graced the stage of a number of high profile festivals including Chicago, Pocono, Mississippi Valley, and North Atlantic.

Sharrie brings a charismatic and radiant stage presence that takes hold of you and captures your heart and soul. She makes you believe because she's lived the stories she tells on stage. She can alternately make you laugh, cry, or get up, move your feet, and shake your shoulders.

With the release of her first North American record, I'm Here To Stay, on the Electro-Fi label, Sharrie is poised for the next level. Moving from beautiful ballads to dance tunes, the CD tells the story of a tough gritty life, and the determination to survive, over the course of 15 original songs.
